KwaZulu Natal Needs Solutions Not Prayers

The Land Party sent its heartfelt condolences to the families of 395 confirmed dead people in KwaZulu Natal because of floods. The LAND would advise the government to allow Gift of the Givers to administer R1 billion Rands allocated for the province of KwaZulu Natal to assist affected families and the people of KwaZulu Natal.

The LAND would like to advise the provincial government of KwaZulu Natal to relocate people from damp areas, townships next from riverbanks and also built in low stages. The LAND also strongly believe that poor storm water and apartheid special planning are both high contributing factor to the destruction of floods in KwaZulu Natal.

The party believes that all townships in KwaZulu Natal must be rebuilt, those who are currently affected and those that are not affected to prevent future incidents where poor people will be the victims of floods in KwaZulu Natal. The province of KwaZulu Natal deserves pragmatic solutions not prayers. It is proper reconstruction, proper infrastructure and proper engineering that will save lives in KwaZulu Natal not prayers.
