2020 was a year of putting theory to practice. The LAND party contested their first by election and won it from the ANC. The LAND Party members have every reason to use this evening, New Year’s Eve, not to moan, but to celebrate. It was bad year for the ANC, therefore the ANC will be lighting candles whilst Landers will be using fireworks.
The people who have died of COVID-19 were killed by the ANC’s response to the epidemic: poor governance, incompetence, and corruption. Their deaths are not in vain. Their deaths have revealed that the ANC is not a socialist organisation, it is capitalist through, and through. Tonight, members of the LAND Party will stay in their homes and light fireworks to celebrate the lives of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in overthrowing a system that no longer has a place on Earth, and celebrating the year 2020 which will go down in history as the year that Capitalism was finally destablilized.
The poor, unlike the rich, have no reason to mourn. The Corona virus has done a great job of destabilizing Western hegemony, capitalism, and the old-world order. It has given the poor an opportunity to rise against the rich. If things continue like this, a coup is looming in South Africa. Ramaphosa and the ANC must cry and mourn alone. They must not expect us to mourn alongside them. Our tears are shed for those who died at Marikana, those who are fighting for lives every day without resources because they have been robbed of what they need to protect them.
The poor are crying every day, going to bed without food, water, electricity, quality healthcare, without jobs, suffering from generations of inequality and injustice. We do not need a capitalist to tell us how to cry and what to mourn. The poor mourn every day because they are the landless slaves and suffering in their native land because of capitalism.
We have been mourning the death of Marikana miners, the service delivery protesters being killed by police simply for fighting for services, we are mourning exclusion, mourning discrimination, and day to day oppression. The 31st of December is a day that poor people celebrate life and forget their sufferings for a brief period of time. This year they have even more reason to celebrate.
Some political elites, and the rich have become accustomed to celebrating throughout the year for a myriad of reasons, and sometimes for no reason at all. It is right that they should now rather mourn because those heady days are coming to an end. The truth is that coronavirus is a Messiah for the poor and has dealt with the current global Capitalist system decisively. It has disturbed the old-world order. It has given the poor an opportunity to reorder the global economy and power. Therefore, we will not be mourning with the Capitalists.
Cele cannot police us on our property, he has failed to fight criminals that are brutalizing the poor every day, and yet he has the audacity to tell the poor how to behave and how to celebrate our evening. Ramaphosa will be carrying a candle for 5 minutes in Cape Town, afterwards, he will probably be going to a wine state in Stellenbosch to drink wine and have a discreet dinner with his cronies. We cannot be told by a capitalist stooge how to spend our evening. We can't mourn ANC failures. The ANC must take full responsibility for the poor state of our hospitals and the death of the people killed by pandemic. They can try and control us even more by implementing fake loadshedding but we will be celebrating.
Prayer cannot prelude science.
Let us also celebrate 2021 - the year the people will be able to elect those that govern them.
