KZN LAND PARTY LEADER SHOT ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

Land Party is devastated at the passing of Comrade Bongani Xaba. Comrade Xaba was shot in front of his girlfriend at 9.30pm on Friday 31st January 2021. This comes after months of harassment that started the moment he decided to stand up for his people in Abaqulusi and participate in the 2021 Local Government Elections.

Even when it became apparent that his life was at risk, Comrade Xaba did not back down. He was willing to risk his life to pursue the goal of true emancipation of the people.

Comrade Xaba was just the kind of leader South Africa needs more of. He was hardworking, a man of integrity, committed to restoring dignity to his community, and a dedicated father, brother, and son.

Land Party insists on a thorough investigation into Comrade Xaba’s brutal murder and will do everything in our power to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.

This is a very sad day and a massive loss for the people of Abaqulusi, the Xaba family, and all Landers. Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences go out to the Xaba family and all who loved this phenomenal man.
