Land Party Supports NUMSA Picketing at SAA

The Land Party was born out of the Land revolution in the Whale Coast of the Western Cape and we will always side with those who are raising their demands through mass action. The Land Party is calling on all of our members in the currently affected areas to join the picketing workers until they get their desired outcome.

We will always stand with the destitute masses of our people, the poor, the working class and the marginalized people of our country. We believe the affected workers have genuine demands and therefore those demands by NUMSA must be met. NUMSA has threatened a shutdown of all services at SAA if Vuyani Jarana is not reinstated as the CEO of SAA. Jarana is a darling of the working class and the Land Party stands in solidarity with NUMSA to have his resignation overturned.

The Land Party will always support NUMSA as NUMSA supported the leadership of the Land Party even before the party was established. NUMSA is the only labour machinery force that stood side by side with the people of Zwelihle, Hermanus where the Land Party was founded. It was NUMSA that supported our Chief Leader even in a court of law and demanded his release. NUMSA is the only revolutionary workers organization that advocates socialism and people’s interest before profit. For these reasons, we consider NUMSA to be an ally and we look forward to fostering our relationship with the union. Our relationship is not that of material conditions but defined by comrade Che Guevara: “If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine.”

Land Party asks government to move faster to overturn Jarana's resignation. Government must prioritize the political stability of our country.
