The Land Party welcomes the announcement of the new cabinet ministers. We trust that these women and men, young and old will serve our country with pride and patriotism. The Land Party will give the president and this cabinet 100 days before we judge their performance and provide constructive criticism.

The Land Party is happy to see the generational mix of the sixth parliamentry cabinet. We are confident that the appointment of Ronald Lamola to the department of correctional services will help resolve the outstanding grievances of the employees of the department. We believe he will prioritise the safety of prison officials and rebuild correctional centres to become facilities that will cater for the rehabilitation of offenders.

The Land Party also welcomes the decision by the president to include Patricia De Lille in his executive. Patricia De Lille is a hard worker and it is long overdue for her to become part of government. We also welcome Dr David Masondo as we know him as a credible leader and a very dedicated individual. We are also happy that the president has introduced Dr Zweli Mkhize to rescue our health facilities where Dr Aron Motsoaledi failed to transform or improve our health system.
