Land Party visits Elim home of Delvina Europa

The body of six year old Delvina Europa was discovered in the bushes behind a school in the Caledon district on Tuesday. A 35 year old man, said to be known to the family, has been formally charged with the rape and murder of the young girl and is being held in police custody.

Six year old Delvina is the fifth minor to have been murdered in the region since 2013 and angry residents are planning to take to the streets to protest against child murders. The Land Party will support the community of Elim in this protest.

On Thursday 28 March, members of Land Party visited Delvina’s family in Elim to offer support during this tragically heartbreaking time. Land Party strongly condemns all acts of violence and particularly those committed against women and children. We will continue to support this family and the community they live in to put a stop to these crimes.
