People's Justice is Not a Crime

The Land Party support the rural community of eZingqolweni for standing up against a criminal syndicate that was killing pensioners for body parts in that community. The Land Party urges all communities to stand up against criminals who are terrorizing communities. The truth is that police have failed to protect communities and in some communities, police are working with criminals to terrorize communities.

The community of eZingqolweni has been ignored by the Eastern Cape provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga, and yesterday, before they took the law into their own hands they called Minister Bheki Cele and warned him about the angry community who lost another pensioner a few days ago, but the minister did not act until the community took the law into their own hands.

The Land Party is appalled by the provincial commissioner's Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga's comment, labeling the law-abiding citizens 'criminals' after she has failed the community several times. That is criminal. The same provincial commissioner promised the community that training would be provided and the community of eZingqolweni would be helped, but she decided to ignore calls from the same community structure she asked to co-ordinate a neighborhood watch.

The Land Party call for communities to defend themselves from criminals who have now taken over our communities. The Land Party applaud the community of eZingqolweni for standing up together and fighting crime. People's justice is not a crime. If police are failing communities and siding with criminals, the Land Party supports people's justice. It is only through people's justice that our communities will be safe in the absence of police.

The Land Party also advises the minister of police to temporarily put a mobile police station in eZingqolweni until a proper police station be built in the community. The Land Party will provide legal assistance for the community members who will be arrested by the police for defending themselves against criminals who have been killing pensioners for body parts.
