Salute Comrade Mjongile

The Chief Leader of the LAND Party, Gcobani Ndzongana, would like to send heartfelt and sincere condolences to the family of late comrade Songezo Mjongile.

The Chief Leader of the LAND Party served under the leadership of Comrade Songezo Mjongile, Bongani Mkhongi, Jay Jay Tyhalisusu, Jabu, Nomi Mkhondlo, Xolani Sontashe, and the late Mfundo Ceshemba.

The Chief Leader learned a lot and was politically groomed by the above-mentioned leaders, including former Deputy Mayor of Overstrand Municipality, Comrade Theo Olivier. The Chief Leader of the LAND Party is saddened to wake up with the news that the former treasurer of the ANCYL in the Western Cape, comrade Songezo Mjongile, passed away after short illness of colon cancer.

The Chief Leader of the LAND Party is grieving with the family and is saddened by the death of one of the cool minded leaders of his youth activism. Comrade Songezo Mjongile was a very humble individual, very unique, and a very organised leader. Comrade Songezo Mjongile had a very good memory and never acted as if he had forgotten about comrades and those he came across after he rose in the ranks.

The Chief Leader of the LAND Party's last interaction with Comrade Mjongile was in Bredasdorp in 2008 when the ANC Overberg region was preparing for its regional conference. It is where the Chief Leader and late comrade Mjongile were catching up and had a very fruitful engagement. The generation of our Chief Leader has been robbed of another brilliant and smart leader.

The Chief Leader of the LAND Party would like to send his condolences to the ANCYL of 2000 and 2004, his organization in the ANC, and his friends. Your loss is our loss and the ANC has lost a great leader and a great organizer.

His death robbed us of a great leader, a loving person, and a witty jovial leader. May God grant him paradise and his soul rest in revolutionary peace.
