LAND Party celebrates the successful launch of three South African produced Nano satellites, by SpaceX. The launch took place Thursday, January the 13th 2022.
The launch was set from America and was part of the Transporter-3 mission which saw a number of government and company crafts, sharing the launch upon the SpaceX rocket. South Africa's success lies in the manufacturing and producing of our own satellites launched, a first for the continent.
The LAND Party celebrates the innovation and eager minds born in South Africa, and we urge the government of South Africa to invest and develop our own space sector.
To be able to monitor a coastline from space in real time is a progressive approach to securing and protecting natural resources. To be able to manufacture and produce high tech satellites locally, is a progressive approach to competing with world leaders, economically. To open up the sector for investment and development, to reform the nature of investment and development to benefit South Africans with industries of employment, training and innovation should be our focus in the Dept of Science and Innovation. In 2019, The LAND Party Manifesto detailed our proposal to invite such investments.
South Africa has a Space sector which has the potential to develop and contribute to the entire upliftment of the country and the continent. LAND Party will continue to agitate change for the benefit of the masses of South Africa, while celebrating the innovations that can lead to such change.
