The symbolism behind the LAND PARTY logo

Updated: Jan 10, 2019

The Land Party logo consists of a gold digger pick crossed with a gold machete placed beneath a golden yellow star. The ideology of communism can be seen from the logo.

The yellow star and digger pick and machete are themselves symbols of communism and socialism. The digger pick is for industrial workers and the machete is for agricultural workers. The yellow star represents the party and its ideological concept.

The five points in the yellow star represent the five fingers of the worker's hand, and as well the five continents of the world. It also represents five social groups in South Africa: Youth, Military, Industrial labourer, and agricultural workers, the poor and the people of South Africa as a whole.

In the flag behind the logo, green represents ecological advancement, red represents centralised people's democracy and gold represents economic empowerment.

Read the LAND PARTY Constitution to learn more about our economic, political, cultural, social and ecological strategy.
