We don't need Cuban engineers

The Land Party vehemently condemn the decision by the government to bring Cuban engineers to work in the country. Although the Land Party understand the good intentions of our government to uplift and better the lives of Cuban people in rebuilding their country, we believe the government can achieve this without depriving and ignoring its own citizens.

The Land Party is aware it is not going to be the first time the government is bringing Cuban engineers to our country. The last time they were in South Africa they destroyed a high number of defense fleets. From 2014 until 2019, the government has spent close to R1-billion paying for Cuban mechanics and technicians to repair and maintain part of the military’s fleet of aging vehicles. This money was wasted because Cuban engineers made a valid point that the parts of those vehicles were modern technology, and therefore they were not familiar with the technology.

The Land Party is aware that the ruling party is using the Cuban Communist Party to hide billions of Rand for the ruling ANC. Both parties are using Doctors, Mechanics and Engineers as a Trojan horse while they loot billions of Rands from South Africa to fund both parties. The Land Party believe there are many South Africans who are qualified engineers and are roaming the streets unemployed. South Africa is definitely not short of engineers.

While the Land Party takes inspiration from the Cuban revolution and Cuban communist party, the Land Party condemns the corruption done by the two parties to plunder the resources of our country to benefit the Cuban Communist Party and the ANC. The Land Party support the empowerment of Cuban people but are vehemently against the government approach of ignoring the skills of its own citizens who are suffering. South Africa cannot afford to prioritize Cubans whilst 80% of South Africans are unemployed because of poor governance and corruption of the governing party.

The Land Party is fully aware that the relationship between South Africa and Cuba is being abused by the governing party to steal State resources utilizing the need for skilled Cuban workers, professionals, specialists, scientists, and engineers as a pretext. The Land Party ask South Africans to wake up and stand against the government's poor decisions that have a direct effect on the poor and the working class.
