Land Party activists were honoured to stand with other community activists from informal settlements and backyard dwellings in and around the city of Cape Town on 26 February 2019.
Community activists from Mfuleni, Khayelitsha, Dunoon, Strand, Paarl, Heideveld, Bonteheuwel, Sandvlei, Vosho, Thornton, Ruyterwacht, Maccassar, Brookyln, Marikana, Ramaphosa, Kuyasa, Sophia Town, Zwezwe, Nkanini, Section 36 and other areas came together to address numerous issues and grievances with regard to a lack of service delivery from the City of Cape Town (CoCT).
Among the issues raised in the memorandum presented to CoCT were the failure of officials to provide adequate health and sanitation services, housing, community facilities and basic infrastructure to uplift the poor and working class people of the city.
The Land Party steadfastly supports these activists in their fight against the capitalist gangsters of CoCT and we will not rest until our comrades in the Western Cape are afforded the human dignity and respect they deserve from city officials and government.
We would like to thank each and every person that attended today for showing love and compassion for their communities, and for fighting the good fight!
