Who is trying to poison our soldiers?

Members of the SANDF have sent the LAND Party evidence of soldiers being fed food that is past the expiry date. Worse still it is literally being covered up. This is so wrong on so many levels. It is fraudulent, it is life-threatening and it is downright immoral. It is probably yet another case of tender corruption
Packs of food have been distributed with an expiry date of 30/10/2020 however if one peels off the sticker that has been placed on the package it reveals that this food expired in February and March of this year.
The fact that special stickers have been printed and placed over the original packaging shows specific intent and knowledge that soldiers will be given food that could cause them serious harm. This cannot be tolerated and we call on the office of the President to address this as a matter of urgency.
All packs must be recalled and replaced with healthy food. The suppliers of these foods to the SANDF must be held accountable and charged with culpable homicide. Their business should be closed immediately and, if this was a tender, the tender process and all parties involved must be investigated.
The LAND Party is concerned at the way in which the standard of our military has deteriorated so drastically since the dawn of democracy. The SANDF has a very small budget, salaries are low, equipment and vehicle are poorly maintained and the people awarded tenders are taking our military for a ride. Our coast guard maintenance and even skippers are contracted out.
We urge the government to prioritize the SANDF so that the army, the navy and the air-force can do their job and defend our country effectively. The SANDF should be our national pride. We call for the end of outsourcing in the military. There are enough ex-soldiers and war veterans who can be called upon to get our defence force ship-shape. Put them to work and cut out the corrupt officials, politicians and middlemen.
LAND Party also requests that priority be given to institutions like the Chrysalis Academy to prepare more of our youth for public service and teach them discipline along with invaluable life skills.
