UPDATE
STATEMENT 30TH OCTOBER 2019
Land Party reached an agreement with South Africa's Post Office branch in Hermanus. A permanent postman for Zwelihle will be signing his contract before the end of the week. 3 internal vacancies will be filled soon. Our delegation was invited by the Area Manager from Cape Town to resolve the issue without a protest.
The Postal Service department do admitted and accepted their failure. They admitted to the fact that Zwelihle was discriminated against and treated unfairly by their postal service branch in Hermanus. The Land Party is always willing to engage robustly, it's not it's intention to resolve matters through protest means.
We would like to thank the Area manager for being open and honest with our delegation to find an amicable solution to this matter and lay it to rest.
Thank You!

The LAND PARTY will soon be marching against the South African Post Office in Hermanus. It's now nearly two years since the African community of Zwelihle is not getting its letters.
This is done deliberately to uplift Hermanus Postnet which is a private postal business. The Land Party has approached the authorities regarding this complaint on several occasions and they promised to fix it before the end of September but the problem persists.
A letter should not sit in the Post Office for more than 7 days, but, in the Hermanus Post Office, letters for Zwelihle have been sitting there for more than a year and nearly towards the end of the second year. The sad part is that their backlog discriminates against the native people, particularly the African people while the white communities have their mail delivered regularly.
We will be marching against the Post Office until the problem is resolved. Our march will be peaceful and no children or people imbibed with alcohol or carrying weapons will be allowed to participate in the march. The march will take place on the 1st of November.
